What a great day! I loved the troops, the atmosphere, the paratroopers, the mummies, the Cowboys, the Colonial reenactment - everything leading up to Bo.

And Bo did not disappoint. The crowd was ready to rock out, so songs like I'm Gone and Ain't Gonna Die went over like gangbusters. Capping his encore with a fabulous fireworks show was the perfect ending to a special day.

Got to see Bo for the first time in Ft. Benning and my oldest step son was at Ft. Benning in Basic training. So I got to see 2 of my favorite men in one day. Bo blew me away! I had only seen him on Idol and was in love at first sight then I saw him perform and now I'm speechless and in love. Bo Baby you are the bomb!

Bo was awesome as always. He looked gorgeous in the blue shirt. Hearing him sing "American Blood" with the troops waving and cheering made me tear up. They loved "I'm Gone", joined in even though they had never heard the words before.
His band kicked-ass!! I'll never forget, the second they finished and were grouping for a bow the fireworks went off and the sky lit up. I looked back at the stage and they were all looking up with big smiles on their faces.

Great show, great friends, and even fun opening acts! What else could you ask for?

I took lots of videos and they are all over Youtube, but other people put them there. I'm going to try one myself and hope I don't screw it up. Mods, delete if necessary.

I found out after the fact that my nephew, DJ was stationed there for basic training. I hope he got to go and see Bo that night because he loves his Rock and Roll! He is now stationed in Kentucky. He is getting a little care package towards the end of Oct. from his Aunt Kathy...with some good eats..and maybe a little Rock and Roll CD.

This was such a fun concert. I enjoyed every minute of it, from the the new band members to the new kick ass songs. Meeting up with friends that I hadn't seen in a while. Oh and yes, being surrounded by the troops was special.

I'm Gone

The Ft. Benning show was one of my most memorable ones, not only for the outstanding show Bo did, but because I was surrounded by hundreds and hundreds of troops. It made a profound impact on me to be celebrating Independence Day in the midst of these boys, my heroes.
