Great Show!
Wednesday, September 24, 2008 - 12:37 pm - keelakat
We had a great time at the show last night. Ellen and I got there early and decided to get something to eat at the food court in the casino. While we were sitting there we were lucky to have a brief Bo siting when we saw him walk into the casino from the sound check, stop at the food court to get a drink and then we assume go up to his room to get ready for the show. Unless you were a peep you would have missed him, he looked so incognito! LOL He had on a the fedora hat he seems to be loving these days, pulled to down to almost cover his eyes, sunglasses and a big, boxy plaid shirt. Bo never fear, we recognized him!
We didn't want to stop him because we didn't want to intrude, so we just watched him from our table, squeeing quietly to ourselves.

Soon after that FLCathy, Renee, Paulie, Jenny and Ryan arrived and met us in the food court where we hung out for a bit. Ellen and I had purchased the VIP tickets so we had a M&G included in our ticket. We left the food court to go find the "green room" where the M&G was being held and got in line to wait for it to start. As we were waiting, Bo cam strolling down the hall with John Beard. Ellen and I both had "Bo" shirts on so he looked right at us, smiled and said "Hi guys, how you doing tonight"... Bo went into the M&G room which was behind some black curtains, but the curtains were parted slightly and we could see being interviewed in the room. We found out the interview was with Deco Drive, which is a syndicated entertainment show from Miami. I think the interview was suppose to air at 11 pm last night. Since we were still at the concert, obviously we didn't get to see it. While we were waiting several people came out from being the curtains. There were some other VIP guests that were let into the M&G before us. One was an older lady who walked up to me and pointed to the "Bo Bice" on my shirt and said to me "That's my Grandson". Well, I had the privilege to meet Bo's gradmother from here in Florida, along with his Uncle Dennis and Dennis' son (also named Dennis biggrin.gif ). They were lovely people and it was nice to chat with them for a minute. His grandmother told me they were going to see the show and afterwards they were meeting Bo in his room to spend more time with him.

Shortly, after they let us into the M&G. It was a little unorganized. There were a line of people (about 20-25?) and Bo, Todd Rundgren, Denny Lane, Christopher Cross and Lou Graham were at the front of the room. There didn't seem to be anyone to move the fans through the M&G line so we all kind of stood there for awhile, while the guys signed posters that were given to each person at the M&G. After a while, Ellen and I noticed that Bo wasn't talking to any one, so I kind of waved and we made our way over to him. He looked wonderful in his jeans with the different patches, a dark brown shirt and what looked like a new "fedora" that was kind of like a dark brown straw with lighter beige hat band. I had brought gifts that I picked out for Caroline, Aidan and Caleb, along with something special I had picked out for Bo. I also had a gift from jscpost that she asked me to give to Bo. So I gave Bo the bag with gifts for Caroline and the boys, and gave him Sue's gift. Of course he thanked me and said "we just love you guys". Then I handed him my gift and asked him if he would mind opening it then. Bo said sure, he'd love to. The gift was in a red box tied with a ribbon. When you opened that box inside there was a green velvet jewelry box. The first thing Bo said was "Wow, that's my favorite color - hunter green!!". I thought that was so cute, he got excited about the color of the box before he even saw what was inside. (BTW I didn't plan the color of the box, it just worked out that way). Then he opened the box and I can't really remember everything he said (Hopefully Ellen does biggrin.gif ) but Bo was so gracious and he said he really loved the gift and gave me a big hug. yahoo.gif The gift was a silver cross and dog tag on a silver chain. He really looked at the cross and then said "that's a lot like my tattoo". I can't tell what I was feeling at that moment, but let's just say when he said that I was staring at the tattoo on his chest. tongue.gif tongue.gif Anyway, I told him yes, that's why I picked that particular cross. Then he looked at the dog tag. I had Aidan's and Caleb's names and bdays engraved on the dog tag and he looked at it and said something like "awwwww, Aidan Michael and Caleb James". Which got me another hug!! yahoo.gif He also turned the dog tag over and read the inscription I had engraved on the back. Bo's so sweet he just kept saying "Thank you" and "we love you guys". I told him that there was something special in the bag for Caroline as well and congratulated him on the birth of Caleb. He said something that I can't remember, and then I got a final hug.

We then went into the show and found our seats. We had great seats and were in the 2nd row. Unfortunately, we weren't on Bo's side of the stage, so my camera couldn't really capture a lot of good pictures because he was too far away for my camera. When he moved closer to us I did get a couple of better pictures which I will post later. Bo was great, there's been many reports of the set list and what parts Bo does in the show, so I won't repeat all that here. I'll just say that Bo looks like he's having a blast on this tour. Christoper Cross and Todd Rundgren mentioned Bo a couple of times and both obviously think highly of him. heart.gif At one point, Lou Graham was singing "Lovely Rita". I looked over to the side of the stage and I could see Bo in the wings watching Lou, bopping to the music, and singing every word right along with him. I thought that was a cute moment, since he wasn't on stage and probably thought no one saw him.

Bo did the guitar solo on WMGGW and was wonderful. He really was having fun up on that stage. Towards the end Ellen and I made our way up to the stage on Bo's side. Bo was playing with the audience, pointing his guitar at us and running towards us and just goofing around. He was a joy to watch. When all was said and done at the end of the concert, people were starting to leave, but Bo stayed on stage for a moment and stood in front of a mic and said "This is for Poppy". (Unfortunately I didn't hear that, but Ellen did and I think it's such a testament to who Bo is as a person. Making sure to acknowledge his "Poppy". I'm sure his Grandmother and Uncle Den in the audience appreciated that so much).

After the concert we hung for just a minute by the stage and we were able to say hello to John Beard and shake his hand. It's the first time I had an opportunity to speak to John and he's just as sweet and nice as I thought he would be.

We didn't try to find Bo after the concert because we knew that he was going to go back to his room to spend time with his family.

It was a great night and it was made so much better by being able to share it with my Bo sistahs. Ellen, Renee and Cathy....I just LOVE you guys!
