ROCKSTAR Attitude!!

Our trip from St. Charles to Indy was very fun. We laughed and talked the whole way, of course. Zoo did a good job navigating and ended up with a good grade on her report card--A minus, I believe. Because we didn't realize there would be a time change, we arrived later than we expected, making it 4:30 when we checked into the hotel. We decided we didn't have time to make it to the concert, believing it STARTED at 7:00. So we hurried through showers and made our way to the venue by 6:30 so I could get my Will Call ticket. Blimey, the DOORS were opening at 7, not the concert starting. DOH!!
Since we hadn't eaten for a long time, we decided we now had time for dinner. So, we found a little restaurant nearby, and had a much needed WARM dinner. We all had hot soup to try and warm our bones up. It was freezing outside and starting to snow, just a little. During dinner, we called Mindy to see if she was at the venue and what information about time she could give us. Sure enough, there was going to be an opening act, so we had PLENTY of time. Heck, I could have taken a 3 hour nap, as it turned out!!
After going BACK to the hotel and getting peeps checked into their flights for the next day, we went back to the venue. The Eight Second Saloon is a LARGE country music venue with a big dance floor and DJ, lots of tables and chairs, etc. My seat was in the second row of tables, so I plopped myself down (all by my lonesome) and proceeded to check out settings, lighting, etc. for my camera. My view was actually pretty good, but I felt pretty isolated. (I bought my ticket rather late!)
The opening act wasn't bad. They were called "_______ Stereo" (can't remember). The lead singer had a pretty good voice, lots of falsetto, though and more screaming than I usually enjoy. But, it helped me get camera set up, so that was good. He wasn't bad to look at, either.
After the opening act finished their set, BoSugar and Samson motioned to me to move up to their row of tables where there was an empty seat. YAY!! Much better view, and I didn't feel so alone. Thanks, ladies!!
Bo's set started at about 10:30, PLENTY of time for me to have taken that nap!! LOL He looked great, as you will see in pictures. Hair was looking especially nice, good looking black shirt and jeans, boots. When he hit the stage, he was ready to ROCK. He came out with "I'm a ROCKSTAR" attitude, ready to deliver!! I don't remember the entire set list, but he started with Aint Got Money, a good one to get the party started. Cameras were flashing EVERYwhere. Men and women, taking tons of pictures. I don't know how Bo and the band keep on track with all those flashes going off.
For me, the sound was better than St. Charles. I do think it had/has a lot to do with where you are sitting. But, I could hear Bo's vocals better, so I was a happy peep! He made sure he was sharing the "love" with those he could reach. Even those he can't touch, he gives a wink and a point, making everyone feel like he's singing to them. I do love that about Bo.
After a great set, including This Train, Witness, UMMB, I'm Gone, American Blood, Vehicle, Can't You See, STL, It's Only Words, I Ain't Gonna Die they took a quick break. We all started chanting Bo, Bo, Bo, and soon he came back onstage. Feeling his oats, he came over to our tables and threw water or beer on us. I thought it was just water in a beer bottle, cuz I didn't SMELL beer, but others thought it was beer. Anyway, it was pretty funny and something I've never seen Bo do before.
For their encore they did a great version of The Real Thing. The crowd really reacted well when he went into that one. They closed with an awesome rendition of Whiskey, Women, and Time. Nice long version, jammin'! Near the end of the song, Bo did something ELSE I've never seen him do. He walked out onto our table, probably 3/4 the length. I was SO dang surprised, I hardly knew what to do---HERE HE COMES!! right towards me!!! I started moving drinks and phones and cameras. It was a mad scramble and pretty darn funny. Patrick was right on his heels, probably having a heart attack!!
You'll see the mayhem on video, I'm sure.
After finishing the show, Bo talked about his "New Year's Resolution". He said he was tired of worrying about "doing what he was told" (I'm guessing RCA, here). He hated being made to go back and sit on the bus after shows and wants to spend time with fans. His resolution is to stay after shows, sign autographs and take pictures as long as fans will stand in line for him. (Have I mentioned that I love this man?) He's such a generous soul with an amazingly giving spirit. I hope he doesn't make himself ill with these LONG days/nights, but I certainly appreciate his beautiful heart's intention.
True to his word, he came back out and signed autographs until 2 am!! The man is amazing. He looked tired by the end of it, but, heck so did we ALL.
As always, he was so sweet to everyone and I'm sure won many more hearts over.
BO BICE IS AN AMAZING MAN!!
It was a great show and I'm SO thankful that I got to be there. Thanks to Jeanne and Grapper for allowing me to tag along on the road trip. It was so fun and always wonderful spending the time together. Jeannine, I would have given you an A!!
Pictures and, yes, videos (ummm, my camera had a glitch and took some vids accidentally) to follow!! I'm jetting my way back to Seattle soon, not knowing when I'll get to another show. I hate that part, the NOT KNOWING!! But, my heart is full and I feel very grateful for this amazing 10 day Bocation. It's been unforgettable!!
