(B. Bice/SugarMoney Publishing (BMI))

I grew up on Merle Haggard, ZZ Top and CDB
And if that Freebird wasn’t soarin
Y’all would have never heard of me
Turn up Bocephus on the radio
Marshall Tucker now can’t you see

Chorus:
You can take me out the country
But you’ll never take the country out of me

Can’t go a day without Waylon Jennings
And the red haired stranger’s on mind
Johnny Cash and Jimmy Rogers
JJ Cale and old John Prine
My Sweet Melissa keeps on callin’
Take a load off Annalee

I ain’t never been to Heaven
But I hear it’s just the same as Tennessee

(Solo)

Now my face might seem familiar
You see me smiling on T.V.
They might take me out to L.A.
But they’ll never take sweet Dixieland from me
They might take me out the country
But they’ll never take the country out of me
If you didn’t know that I was country
Alabama’s always home to me

Love it!!!!!

So at first I missed Gary's guitar pickin and the fun, upbeat version you did at the Bluebird. But after listening to this clip a couple times, now I got to hear the full song from the cd. Think I like this, but is it ok if I like the other version just as much?

I think this one is one of the winner's.!

I've posted previously that I think this is one of those potential top hit songs. I want to see this one promoted. I want the rest of the world to see the talent and the broadness of our Bo!

Love it!

I just to come post another comment. I'm loving this song, This song could be such a huge hit. A little bit of funk, country and rock 'n' roll. Would also love to see a video for this one, watching Bo sing this would be just as much fun as the song is.

Oh, my!

Can't get enough of Bo. This may be the one that gets him back in the public eye and the recognition he deserves.

This is one of my favorites ever since I heard it live. I think it would be a huge hit with the CMT fans and I think the crossover fan base would help Bo out. This one, Ain't Gonna Die, Sinner In a Sin are winners to me. Of course, Only Words is just plain beautiful too! And This Train, I guess I just like this guy's music!

Very Nice!

Very nice Bo! Love that swampy feel to this song. I never would have imagined it sounding this way. It's just great.

Down and dirty!

Bo, this song is just awesome. Swampy soul, yes sir! Such a departure from the original version, totally different sound, and the vocals are gritty and real.

Love This Song

I am proud to say that I was at the first show this song was ever played, shortly after Bo wrote it. Yes I am talking about the beautiful the lovely, Bloomington, Illinois, home of Illinois State University. I loved it then, even though none of us knew it, we were all singing along with it at the end. I'm glad it's included on this cd.

LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!

I really liked the original version, but I just love this version, The beginning is awesome, can't wait to hear it from beginning to end, that's what you call some real country rock.
